This builder asked for the frames to be made of 65x65 Galvanized steel.
The tube, plus the 40x40 battens which he fitted to both sides of the gate, made it 145mm thick. Plus, the gate had to swing flush, and we did this by making the hinge point further away than normal.

Any DIY steel frame can be used to attach timber runners inside, allowing timber cladding to be nailed to it!
This customer fitted aluminum panels to both sides of his DIY frames, and he also asked for 2 DIY panels for each side of the gate, as well as 2 posts.
DIY gate frames are supplied with a galvanized finish, but powder coating is also available, at extra cost!
