Gate posts should be at least 1/3rd in the ground.
To determine the correct length of the gate post, divide the height of the gate into 3, and then add it to the result.
Example:
1650mm divided by 3 = 550, at which you add the original 1650mm, resulting a gate post size of 2200mm.
